Infectious Diseases Associates and Travel Medicine (IDATM) provides comprehensive Infectious Disease care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. We also provide travel counseling, vaccination, and post-travel follow-up.
IDATM is composed of physicians who have received specialized training in Infectious Diseases. After completing four years of medical school and three years of training in Internal Medicine, an Infectious Diseases Specialist spends two to three years of focused study on infectious diseases. Our physicians at IDATM are also board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Infectious Diseases.
Many common infections can be treated by your primary care provider. Your provider might refer you to IDATM when an infection is difficult to diagnose, does not initially respond to treatment, or requires specialized or intravenous therapy. Infections include diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, or other microscopic organisms. The doctors at IDATM also serve as primary care physicians for some people with HIV/AIDS, treating most illnesses and coordinating their patients' overall care.
